THW limit the right of suffrage for the "educated"

Suffrage means "the right to vote in political elections" according to the New Oxford American Dictionary. To limit the right of suffrage for the educated means that those who are educated are the only ones who are allowed to vote.

It is stated in the 1987 Constitution of the Republic of the Philippines under Article V Section 1 that everyone has the right to vote. Regardless of your skin color, your gender and your ethnic group because as long as you are of legal age then, you have the right to vote and that is what makes this an issue.

PROS CONS

1. Educated voters will make wise

votes.

2. Educated voters are wise enough to

choose the right and worthy men and

women who will serve our country.

3. Knowing the fact that the voters of

our country are educated thus having

a wise and aware society persuades

us. 1. Those who are not allowed to vote have no voice in our society. 2. Those who are "not educated for voting" are choosing from those who are "not educated for serving." said by Miriam Defensor-Santiago. 3. There is inequality in terms of social classes. (educated and uneducated)

Section 1. Suffrage may be exercised by all citizens of the Philippines, not otherwise disqualified by law, who are at least eighteen years of age, and who shall have resided in the Philippines for at least one year and in the place wherein they propose to vote, for at least six months immediately preceding the election. No literacy, property, or other substantive requirement shall be imposed on the exercise of suffrage.
