It starts off with the author calling out to Heaven, the divine beings. He is calling out to them because evil at its worst is playing the land. One of these 'evils' is treason. The author also explains that goodness and wisdom is not alive in Albania anymore. Anyone who did good, meaning going against evil (treason), is punished. The evil people are the one that are praised. The author is saying that evils are triumphing against good. Anyone who spoke the truth (good) would be punished severely (death by sword). The need and want of wealth and power is the cause of all the evil in Albania. The author asks the heavens to fight all of the evil in Albania. The author asks the heavens to fight all of the evil hearts. But, the divine being doesn't answer his prayers. So he asks "Why?" "Why don't they hear his questions?" "Why do they ignore him?" Then the author says that no man can ever understand the thoughts of God. So the author doesn't know where he can get support if the Heavens don't hear his prayers. Right after such intense dreams with the heavens the poem turns into 'Love'. The author states that if God brings suffering upon him, he will bear it all as long as he allows Laura to fall in love with him. Even with grief and tears, Laura is his Heart's delight. The thought of Laura gives strength. It helps heal the misery and who's that the author is experiencing. Well it says that the author knows that Laura is with another man, count Adolfo. I think that's a sexual reference. Knowing these the author talks to death. He wants his pain to end.
