In a fast paced world people always want everything immediately. They become impatient, so impatient, in fact, that they miss out on the little things in life. This leads to missed moments and things done wrong. These little missed moments become very important at the end of life when we look back on the things we have done. As a result, to live a fast paced life takes away important things in your life, therefore all people should live life at a slow pace.
In older times life was simple, though inconvenient. People would go about their daily routines at nature's pace. Time was marked by the passing of the seasons, the life cycles of human, animal and plant life and the cycles of the moon. However, as time went by people began to need things now rather than later.
One example of how this has changed life is through the extended use of cell phones. This is because many people prefer to text message someone rather than take the time to call them or speak with them in person. While this can be an easier and faster method of finding out information, it has many downsides. The first is that texting is changing the importance of grammar and correct spelling, causing many problems because people simply do not know how to write formally and accurately. However, if people spoke in person more often they would not have this problem.
In addition, instant answering makes people less social. This is because people do not take the time to develop relationship skills with the other person. They are simply sending a message instead of be having a conversation with the person. This also affects the person's development of basic conversational skills which are necessary to life.
Also, this fast paced life has brought about a strongly competitive environment for people. This new competitive environment brings stress upon people. This is because, people today are required to make quick decisions and a single wrong decision can cost them a fortune. This problem accompanied by the struggle to meet deadlines, the need to continuously update themselves about the latest changes in their jobs, and the rush required to accomplish a task makes people stressed.
Furthermore, this competitive attitude brings out bad negative characteristics in people as well as medical problems. This is because they are expected to be able to do everything perfectly the first time, quickly and efficiently. While, in fact, many people need to take time to do things efficiently.
Therefore, they are rushed and they do not have the time to do things correctly, which can upset people. Also, the stress to do things correctly the first time weakens the immune system of the person, resulting in making the person vulnerable to a large number of health problems. These problems can range from simple skin problems such as acne or other complicated medical problems such as hypertension, diabetes, heart problems and even nervous breakdown ("WebMD").
