Private Security vs. public policing
Private security and public policing have different things that they do towards each other in today's society. Some things they do are alike, but in public policing they requires a little bit more training than the private policing. Some of there tasks that they do are sometimes overlapping, and very supportive. In my paper I will compare and contrast the roles, responsibilities, of private and public police, and go over some of the regulations that the governor has to do with security industry and police, and to use some of the present employment from the Census data that they have collected. Private security personnel have two major occupations: private investigators and security.
The roles and responsibility on the public police that deal with the government and society is to enforce laws, maintain the peace between individuals, detect crimes, respond to emergencies, assist with victims of the crime, and provide assistance in prosecuting offenders. The public police are also involved in supporting the community and outreach programs also help assist with children's that has community service that needs to be done, so that's a good program to be placed in public police has a power to search, arrest, and detain a person from the Criminal Code and territorial police acts. Police also protects public property and spaces. The spaces consist of property by private owners and operated by them, but the public has a right to park in the spaces provided, especially for the use of shopping malls, airports, and coliseums that when the owner's of the private property ask the private security to help maintain and control access to there property will in use of different activities that's going on. Private security personnel do similar police like activities; they act on behalf of their employer, and not on behalf of the public in a sense.
Private investigators handles investigations like help finding a missing person get information legal litigation cases. They protect private property against theft and fire, investigate company's fraud, and provide risk management consultations. Whether people know it or not; private investigators are hired by private security companies, retail trade, and the public administrating business. Security guards maintain order and enforce the rules and regulation a public events and they also protect private property, against theft and vandalism, they use care services for transportation goods, and have access to venues. Security guards are hire by security companies as well and not by public police.
Arenas and recreation, warehousing and transportation, the arts, hospitals and social assistance, food services and hotels, and public administrations business also hire security guards. Private security personnel have the same criminal law powers as any other individual, and are able to arrest and detain individuals. If a security officer catch a person trespassing an private property, shopping malls, airports, arenas, and airports that individual could be arrested because that person isn't suppose to be up there after hours.
They feel that after hours it shouldn't be anyone on the premises unless it's them or someone working late to do paperwork. Other than that people that get caught will have to face the consequences that come to them.
Public policing has to do little bit more than a private security does. A public police has to through extensive training and screening requirements to make sure hat they are fit for the job or position that they does. The private security personnel have to have background checks, criminal records, and training done for their position. In order to become a police officer a person has to have the adequate training and has to be done by standardized and centralized a police colleges and academics. The private security personnel training only have minimum training and it varies. There training is minimum because some may have to carry a concealed weapon and some may not depends on were they be placed at the time of employment. At the hospital I have only seen a security guard carry a flashlight and maze. I have not seen a weapon unless I have missed it or just want paying attention, but they do have a dangerous job just like a
